

Known as “Doctor K,” Gooden has 2,293 career strikeouts. He was considered one of the most feared pitchers in the 1980s and 90s. He won NL Rookie of the Year honors in 1984 and then took home the NL Cy Young Award the following year. He went to the All-Star Game four times as a member of the New York Mets and won three World Series titles with the Yankees. He tossed a no hitter on May 14, 1996.
