

Considered by ESPN the third-best all-around athlete of any sport, Dave Winfield played 22 years in the majors for six teams, including the Yankees. A 12-time All-Star selection, Winfield won a World Series title in 1992 with the Toronto Blue Jays. He also won the Roberto Clemente Award in 1994 for his play on the field, as well as community service off it.
Did You Know: : Players in the past have been traded for other players, draft picks or cash. But Winfield was the only player ever to be traded for a dinner.
CC Celebrates Black History Month – The Pioneers of the Game of Baseball
Everyday for the month of February, CC will feature one of his baseball heroes as part of Black History month. Each one of the men had a profound effect on the game of baseball and was an inspiration to CC as he worked to become a Major League Baseball player.
