Cal Ripken may be known as the “Iron Horse,” but “Hammerin’” Hank Aaron was an iron man in his own right. He played 21 seasons in the big leagues (19 of them with the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves organization). One of the all-time greats, Aaron has three Gold Gloves and a World Series title, but he is best known for holding the all-time home run record with 755. It was a record that stood from 1974 to 2006. He holds Major League records for most career RBIs (2,297) and career extra base hits (1,477).

      CC on Hank:

Hank Aaron ( outfielder ) “Hank was one of the greatest right hand power hitters of all time. I heard a lot of great stories about him growing up being that he was my grandfathers favorite player.”

      Did you know:
Aaron is the corporate vice president of community relations for the TV Network TBS (Turner Broadcasting System), a member of the company’s board of directors and the vice president of business development for The Airport Network.

CC Celebrates Black History Month – A Salute to African American Heroes

Everyday for the month of February, CC will feature one of his personal heroes as part of Black History month. Each one of them had a profound effect on our world and the game was an inspiration to CC as he worked to become a Major League Baseball player.

"I grew up in the Boys & Girls Club, grew up in the inner city, saw everything that it can do for you," Sabathia said. "I was fortunate to be able to get out, and now I'm trying to give back."
